The eHealthcare Leadership Award - "Best Site Design"

Overview

Nearly 1,200 entries were received from a wide range of healthcare organizations (both large and small), online health companies, pharmaceutical firms, and business improvement/vendor sites.

Organizations had the opportunity to enter under one of 17 classifications so that they could compete against others of comparable type, size, and resources. There were nine different Award categories.

Judging

An independent panel of individuals familiar with healthcare and the Internet evaluated entries. Web sites were rated based on a standard of Internet excellence and how they compared with others in their group classification.

The site was judged on the following criteria:

• Is the Web design unusual, attractive, and engaging?

• Does the design facilitate access to key site information

• Provides strong branding?

• Has excellent usability?

As one of Worlds peak internet bodies, the Awards of The World Wide Web Awards are amongst the most prestigious available and hence, amongst some of the more difficult to win on the web.

The American Association Of Webmasters Awards are primarily designed to supply formal recognition to webmasters and designers who have shown outstanding achievement in web design content and creativity.

Axiem Award - "Absolute eXcellence in Electronic Media"

The Axiem Awards is an international awards program created to honor those who produce the very best in all forms of electronic media. This is the only award representing the entire electronic media industry. The Axiem Award sets the standard of creative communication and production excellence in electronic media by establishing a "level playing field" for all entries. Each entry is judged solely on its own merits against an absolute standard of excellence established for each Medium, Market, and Category.

Horizon Interactive Award - "Bronze Winner"

Giving Credit where Credit is Due!
The Horizon Awards were created to recognize outstanding achievement in the field of Interactive Media. The awards focus on multimedia firms, advertising agencies, in-house communications and marketing departments and freelancers who strive to create innovative, interactive solutions for themselves and for their clients.

The competition is limited to firms, agencies, and individuals that earn less that $5 Million in annual revenue or an in-house department that has an annual budget of less than $1 Million for multimedia projects. As is often is the case, many smaller, interactive media firms and individual developers create outstanding regional and local solutions that never receive the national or international publicity they deserve. It is the goal of the Horizon awards to shed the spotlight on those efforts.

Communicator Award - "Award of Distinction"

The Communicator Awards is an international awards competition founded by communication professionals to recognize excellence in the communication field. The Communicator Awards holds annual competitions for AUDIO in October, VIDEO in November, and PRINT MEDIA in February. Winners have come from all 50 states and numerous foreign countries.

The Communicator Awards gives winners and their clients the recognition that the work they are producing is outstanding and highly regarded by their peers. The Communicator Awards provides an equal chance of winning to all entrants, regardless of size and budget. Since there are no lengthy essays to accompany the entry, all work will be judged solely on its own quality, creativity, and resourcefulness.

Web Marketing Association - "Standard of Excellence Award"

The Web Marketing Association (WMA) was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development on the World Wide Web. Staffed by volunteers, this organization is made up of Internet marketing, advertising, PR and design professionals from around the country who share an interest for improving the quality of advertising, marketing and promotion used to attract visitors to corporate websites.

World Wide Web Mature Media Awards - "Merit Award"

The World Wide Web Mature Media Awards is a program that recognizes the best senior-related Web sites for consumers and professionals. The program is held twice a year - spring and fall - with the goal of providing a "seal of quality" for electronic older adult information .

The World Wide Web Health Awards is a program that recognizes the best health-related Web sites for consumers and professionals. The program is held twice a year - spring and fall - with the goal of providing a "seal of quality" for electronic health information.

The Golden Web Award

A service of the Association and is presented to those sites whose web design, originality and content have achieved levels of excellence deserving of recognition.

Safe Surf Rated

SafeSurf was founded in 1995, out of concern for children accessing adult material and the potential trauma associated with early exposure to pornography. Governmental censorship as a response to the issue was also a major concern.

Our main goals are to employ the SafeSurf Rating Standard on the Internet for the future, while assisting and supporting parents right now.
