TIP OF THE WEEK

Campaign rewards: Strategies to prevent pressure ulcers

For a limited time, Ohio KePRO and the Ohio Local Area Network for Excellence (LANE) is offering a complimentary “Strategies to Prevent Pressure Ulcers” Toolkit to Ohio members of the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes Campaign.

The toolkit includes:

  • Easy-to-use checklists, worksheets, and various articles to help you in evaluating your policies and procedures as they relate to skin care
  • An attitude and knowledge survey to use with your staff to help determine if they have misconceptions or false beliefs about pressure ulcer causes or preventive measures
  • Educational materials that can be copied and passed out in meetings or in-services, or posted on walls in employee break rooms/lounges
  • Quality improvement tools and worksheets to help your skin care team as it looks at your facility’s systems and processes
  • Pressure ulcer materials from the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR).

All campaign registrants also receive a welcome packet that includes materials to improve care, network with other campaign participants, and promote your participation in the campaign.

Register for the campaign before February 28, 2008 and receive information about how to order this valuable pressure ulcer toolkit. For more information about the campaign, visit www.nhqualitycampaign.org.
