Ohio KePRO is proud to serve as the Quality Improvement Organization for Ohio, serving as part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Quality Improvement Organization Program. We work with healthcare professionals throughout the state to help them improve the effectiveness, efficiency, economy, and quality of care delivered to Medicare beneficiaries. Learn more about the national Quality Improvement Organization program.
From 2011 to 2014, our quality improvement efforts will focus on the following areas:
|
Beneficiary and Family-Centered Care
Ohio KePRO works with healthcare professionals as well as Medicare beneficiaries and their families to promote patient and family engagement in the care process. In addition to providing resources for healthcare decision-making, we provide opportunities for listening to and addressing beneficiary and family concerns, and carry out statutorily mandated case review activities and interventions to promote responsiveness to beneficiary and family needs. |
|
Improving Individual Patient Care
We are working with hospitals, nursing homes, and other care providers to promote effective communication, patient safety and coordination of care. Our state projects focus on 1) reducing healthcare-associated infections in hospitals, 2) reducing healthcare-acquired conditions in nursing homes, 3) reducing adverse drug events and 4) quality reporting and improvement. |
|
Integrating Care for Populations and Communities
To improve quality of care, Ohio KePRO is coordinating projects with healthcare providers and communities throughout our state to reduce avoidable hospital readmissions and to implement proven interventions that promote better care and better health outcomes in a cost-effective manner. |
|
Improving Health for Populations and Communities
Ohio KePRO works with healthcare providers to improve the overall health of communities through primary care prevention and early diagnosis. We partner with healthcare providers, patients, public agencies, and other groups and individuals to promote more integrated quality improvements to facilitate more integrated, patient-centered care for a healthier population. |
