Ohio KePRO works with healthcare professionals, as well as Medicare beneficiaries and their families, to promote patient and family engagement in the care process. In addition to providing resources for healthcare decision-making, we provide opportunities for listening to and addressing beneficiary and family concerns, and carry out statutorily mandated case review activities and interventions to promote responsiveness to beneficiary and family needs.
We use information gathered from individual experiences to improve Medicare’s entire system of health care. Shared concerns provide an excellent opportunity to explore root causes, to develop alternative approaches to improving care, and to improve beneficiary/family experiences with the health care system. Our efforts align with the National Quality Strategy, which encourages patient and family engagement.
