MRSA
One key project within the National Patient Safety Initiative focuses on reducing the incidence of healthcare-associated Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in hospitals. Those infected with antibiotic-resistant infections such as MRSA often have longer lengths of stay, more costly episodes of care and an increased risk of dying from the infection. Ohio KePRO facilitates a collaborative project with a small group of Ohio hospitals to reduce the prevalence of healthcare-associated MRSA.
