The goal of Improving Individual Patient Care is to address four priorities identified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS’) National Quality Strategy:
- Making care safer by reducing harm caused in the delivery of care
- Ensuring that each person and family are engaged as partners in their care
- Promoting effective communication and coordination of care
- Making care more affordable for individuals, families, employers and governments by reducing the costs of care through continual improvement
