Breast Cancer Screening
Breast Cancer Screening
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer in American women, contributing to 15 percent of cancer-related deaths in women in 2008, according to the American Cancer Society. See risk factors.
A mammogram is the most reliable way to detect breast cancer. Medicare covers 80 percent for an annual mammogram for women with Medicare over the age of forty, as well as a single baseline mammogram for women with Medicare between age 35 and 39.
