Coming down with the flu or pneumonia can result in missed time with loved ones, hospital stays and even death. Cancer found in its later stages, rather than being screened before symptoms appear, can result in far greater burdens to patients and their families.
Receiving recommended flu and pneumonia vaccines and cancer screenings are vital to living a longer and healthier life! These services are especially important for Medicare beneficiaries, whose age and/or disability may put them at increase risk. Medicare has made recent changes to provide access to these services to patients without any out-of-pocket cost.
Ohio KePRO has partnered with local, state and national organizations to offer information and resources for providers and beneficiaries regarding vaccines to protect against flu and pneumonia as well as screenings for breast cancer and colorectal cancer to assist in prevention and early detection.
We encourage providers to participate in ImpactSIIS, Ohio’s immunization registry system, to promote information-sharing to safeguard the health of all Ohioans.
