Hospital Compare
A new Web site for consumers, Hospital Compare, with hospital quality data for three common medial conditions - heart attack, heart disease and pneumonia - launched April 1, 2005 at the Association of Health Care Journalists National Conference.
Hospital Compare is a public-private collaborative of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, American Hospital Association, Federation of American Hospitals and Association of American Medical Colleges, known as the Hospital Quality Alliance.
Hospital Compare is available at www.HospitalCompare.hhs.gov or www.medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
Hospitals can access several helpful resources for internal training and to address questions from patients, families, and the media. These resources were compiled by Ohio KePRO and the Ohio Hospital Association, and are available at http://www.ohanet.org/quality/default.htm
